The Freshman Handbook is designed to help you plan and prepare for your first year at Vassar. During the months from your acceptance until your arrival for New Student Orientation in August, you will no doubt reflect on your own intellectual and personal goals for the coming year. To be prepared to meet them, you will need to think through, plan, and carry out an academic program grounded in the broad tradition of liberal education. The materials in this handbook are intended to support that process and to introduce you to the wide range of resources available to you as a member of the Vassar community.

Note: The Freshman Handbook is updated annually and made available to the next incoming class in June.  A hard copy of the 2016/17 handbook will be mailed to new students by the Office of the Dean of Freshmen in June.
